I have wanted for a long time to try carving soapstone. I love seals! This kit had everything required making it simple and affordable. It was easier than anticipated. I ended up buying the cat for my daughter ( age 10) because she was interested and she was able to execute it as well. Would make a great gift or easy craft if you want to try out something new I recommend it!

I love my Seal Soapstone Carving Kit from Studiostone Creative. I spent about 90 minutes from start to finish and it looks really cute on my shelf. So much FUN!
Starting with the rough cut out piece of soapstone and following the simple steps - filing, sanding, waxing and it looks as nice as some of the ones I have bought in gift shops. I really appreciate that you get all the materials you need in the kit. Now I want to do more soapstone carving! I will be buying another one!

A rare art kit that actually offers everything you need while not completely holding yr hand or doing all the work for you! I made my seal a little bit rounder than the one on the box but it still turned out lovely and i feel like i learned a new skill. My only complaint is that the sandpaper runs down quite quick, perhaps just slightly larger pieces in the kits would be helpful? But otherwise it was a great experience and I'm happy with my end result!

US BUYERS BE AWARE THAT WE RECEIVED CUSTOMS BILL FROM UPS OVER A WEEK LATER - Seller never disclosed customs charges. UPS tells us the seller is aware of charges at time of shipment as they must sign papers.

I would highly recommend these kits over anything I have been able to find, but not priced well for one inexpensive included tool. Wood carving kits are actually priced better. The box and packaging are nice. Diorama is a wonderful backdrop. Stone is well cut, not chipped, and makes a nice hefty size piece.
The directions are specific and attention to detail for each piece. In Reuse same directions if you had material and equipment to cut a new stone. The cloth and sandpaper are slivers of what they should be, especially for beginners, but that is my suggestion for improvement. These are great beginner kits.
