I ordered this kit to carve this for my mom for Christmas. It was my first time and so incredibly simple! Mine isn't as flowy and soft as someone who has had a lot of practice, but it turned out so well! And it was relaxing doing it!
We have yet to do the kit, but it looks like it'll be great! The instructions seem clear - I bought this for my husband who is trying out new hobbies.
This was so much fun to do! While it doesn't look like the model, I think mine is still super cute! My own kitties stayed at my side while I carved it.

Absolutely adored making this cat! I never knew how fun carving would be! Can't wait to buy more!! I can't imagine an 8yr old doing this, but I'm in my early 20s and it was a bit of a challenge for me! If you want to have fun, go for it!!!

Mz. 8 dove into this as thier first Xmas morning project. Instructions were easy to follow. Stone easy to carve. The hardest part was finding a hair dryer.

US BUYERS BE AWARE THAT WE RECEIVED CUSTOMS BILL FROM UPS OVER A WEEK LATER - Seller never disclosed customs charges. UPS tells us the seller is aware of charges at time of shipment as they must sign papers. I would highly recommend these kits over anything I have been able to find, but not priced well for one inexpensive included tool. Wood carving kits are actually priced better. The box and packaging are nice. Diorama is a wonderful backdrop. Stone is well cut, not chipped, and makes a nice hefty size piece.
The directions are specific and attention to detail for each piece. Reuse same directions if you had material and equipment to cut a new stone. The cloth and sandpaper are slivers of what they should be, especially for beginners, but that is my suggestion for improvement. These are great beginner kits.

Made this for my wee niece who is obsessed with cats. We think cat will end up being her first word, though we might be confusing her with cat, kitty, and gato lol. She loved it! Her grandma dropped it and broke an ear off, which was sad, so do keep in mind that this is fun and easy to carve but also very soft stone because of that. Easy to chip and break! The directions are easy to follow but you also have a lot of leeway to add your own style to the cat.

La sculpture sur pierre est-elle sûre ?
Oui, la pierre que nous utilisons est certifiée exempte d’éléments nocifs comme l’amiante et est principalement composée de langue ou de calcite. Nous encourageons l’utilisation de l’eau lors des étapes de sculpture et de ponçage afin d’éviter toute poussière en suspension dans l’air.
Quels types de pierres sont utilisés ?
Nous utilisons des pierres naturelles dans nos produits. à la fois de la stéatite et de l’albâtre. La stéatite est une pierre colorée et douce, principalement à base de talc, certifiée sûre pour la sculpture. L’albâtre est une belle pierre semi-translucide à base de calcite, légèrement plus dure que la stéatite.
Comment sculpter sans faire de poussière ?
Plus vous mouillez fréquemment la pierre et les outils lors de la sculpture, moins vous créez de poussière sèche. Nous avons développé ce procédé de sculpture pour utiliser de l’eau et se faire facilement à la maison.
Ai-je besoin de compétences pour cela ?
Nous avons inventé ces projets de sculpture sur pierre qui peuvent être très réussis sans aucune expérience en sculpture !
Comment puis-je m’améliorer en sculpture de pierre ?
Ma première recommandation est de rejoindre nos webinaires gratuits sur la sculpture. C’est un excellent endroit pour en apprendre davantage et poser des questions. Vous devriez aussi essayer des projets plus complexes et essayer différentes pierres. J’ai sculpté de nombreux types de pierres au cours de ma vie de sculpteur.
Quelles sont les options de finitions ?
Nous suggérons de chauffer doucement la pierre et d’utiliser une cire de paraffine, mais vous pouvez aussi utiliser de l’huile minérale ou de l’huile de tung pour rehausser les couleurs. Les huiles s’estompent avec le temps, tandis que la cire tient. Une autre option pour une finition plus durable est de pulvériser la pièce finie avec une laque transparente.
