lovely packaging design, clear instructions, and well equipped kit. the soapstone was smaller than i thought but its still easy to hold and carve. i recommend wearing a mask when carving so you don’t inhale the fine dust. overall great product :)

I loved this kit! It contains the stone, supplies, and well-written directions. I, personally, took a lot longer than 90 minutes, but I was having too much fun to quit. Also, I live in the SE USA, and I had my kit, all the way from Vancouver, I just a few days. Super impressed!

¿Qué tipos de piedra se utilizan?
Utilizamos piedra natural en nuestros productos. Tanto esteatita como alabastro. La esteatita es una piedra colorida y blanda, principalmente a base de talco, certificada como segura para tallar. El alabastro es una hermosa piedra semitraslúcida a base de calcita, ligeramente más dura que la esteatita.
¿Cómo tallar sin hacer polvo?
Cuanto más frecuentemente moje la piedra y las herramientas al tallar, menos polvo de piedra seca creará. Desarrollamos este proceso de tallado para usar agua y que se pueda realizar fácilmente en casa.
¿Necesito habilidades para hacer esto?
¡Hemos inventado estos proyectos de iniciación de tallado en piedra con los que se puede tener mucho éxito sin ninguna experiencia previa en el tallado!

Mi primera recomendación es que se una a nuestros seminarios web gratuitos de talla. Es un excelente lugar para aprender más y hacer preguntas. También debería intentar proyectos más complicados y probar diferentes piedras. He tallado muchos tipos de piedra a lo largo de mi vida como escultor.
¿Cuáles son algunas opciones de acabados?
Sugerimos calentar suavemente la piedra y usar una cera de parafina, pero también puede usar aceite mineral o aceite de Tung para realzar los colores. Los aceites se desvanecerán con el tiempo, mientras que la cera durará. Otra opción para un acabado más duradero es rociar la pieza terminada con una laca transparente.
